This True School Hip-Hop mix is dedicated to everyone that appreciates original hip-hop in its finest form. This goes out to Seb for all the days that we rode up and down Crenshaw in the mustang, listening to Pete Rock and The Audio 2. This is for Pure (lynnique the queen of speak) Black for putting me on to NaS, Cal Tjader and Me’Shell and for making me ride the Train all the way to Brooklyn from South Side just to hear them. This is for
Daniel & Joe (R.I.P.) Lemelle and Nate Hughes for all the times when we
had to have Rally burgers and beer instead of real meals, because we were dedicated to the cause. Oh, yeah and Scottie Trippin’, he knows who I’m talking to. This is for Richard and Julie Stumpf, and Ron Johnson who partied with me till the break of dawn on the French Riveria and then got up early and went to chase the deals. This is for Mel, Denise, Gina, Natalie, Leone, Jackie, Madison, and Crystal for including me in the creation of their dream. This is for the Queens Original Hip-Hop crew; Cipher Sounds, Infinity Machine, Sweety G, Spyder D, Phase III, Sound Experience, Supreme Sounds, Master of Sounds and Sight & Sounds for being there when I thought all there was to life was drawing for Marvel comic books. This is for DJ Wayne Ely who taught me that even little southern towns had Hip-Hop souls. This also for my boy Talib A. Haq for proving everybody wrong, and for having my back when we used to scream "New York is in the House!" at the all the wrong times in the LA House of Blues. Peace, and in the words of Ralph McDaniels; Crack is Wack! About Cheda'Hello and welcome. I'm Cheda' Jones, (although most folk in LA know me as BigLee) I like to listen to all types of music, but have a dedication to the progression of a genre that I created called Industrial Soul. Industrial Soul is a grouping of various music styles that, although some what different in style and form, I find are similar culturally. They express the same ideas, moods and goals, one of which is working towards a more Global society. I call it Industrial Soul, but it doesn't just encompass Black music. I love using sounds from all types of countries and languages, as long as it comes from the inner truth of a being, it will have soul. I added the term Industrial to it because I envision this music being played for large audiences, sort of like the raves in LA, London and Abiza. It's cool to listen to by yourself, but it's great to share with like-minded folks that believe that music has a healing power. Industrial Soul is a lifestyle. It's about using music and events to network and progress as a culture, the way hip-hop used to be before the corporations killed it. So come on in and enjoy. Drop me a line if you'd like or just enjoy and run, but while you're listening, let the music guide you and you'll be filled with progressive thoughts. Get @ Me - Cheda Jones Fans of this Show
